Position Summary 

Assisting our R&D chef in working cross-functionally with our registered dietitians and production and marketing teams to help develop, test create and refine, nutritious, delicious, kid-friendly offerings for all dayparts. 


Your days will consist of…

  • Working with our R&D chef, production and marketing teams to help create new, delicious, nutritious, kid-friendly offerings including heat and eat meals, cold lunches, breakfasts, family meals and snacks
  • Aiding in testing  scaling and batch sizing to ensure quality, consistency and efficiency are always met
  • Assisting with manufacturing scaled versions of recipes for testing and sensory evaluations 
  • Adding and updating data in Genesis (R&D system) and ChefTec (culinary  production system) to ensure all ingredients, nutrition facts and recipes are complete and updated as needed
  • Executing the prepared nutritional evaluations and reviews of our meals with our registered dietitians 
  • Assisting our R&D chef in outlining and communicating the procurement plans for any new and approved menu items with our procurement department and helping ensure new offerings adhere to our procurement plans and guidelines
  • Supporting  the development and revisions of recipes, consolidation guides and plating guides for new and existing meals to help ensure production readiness, quality and consistency
  • Working with our R&D chef, finance and production teams on food cost evaluations 
  • Collecting customer feedback from the marketing and customer experience teams to help improve and evolve our offerings 
  • Helping to execute testing programs with our R&D chef, marketing and customer experience teams to have new and existing meals taste and experience tested by our customers
  • Assisting our R&D chef produce meals to be staged and photographed


We’d love for you to…


  • Have 1-2 years of experience creating and producing fully prepared meals
  • Have a degree in culinary arts or food science
  • Culinary and new food product development experience including commercialization in the manufacturing environment a plus
  • Knowledge of and commitment to GFSI/SQF, food safety standards, nutritional labeling a plus
  • Be highly motivated, self-directed and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Have strong analytical, planning and organization skills and the ability to communicate clearly and cross-functionally
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office application
  • Be a creative innovator who is not afraid to take risks, be resourceful, and utilize entrepreneurial thinking


Work environment and physical demands…

  • Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving machines and forklifts in a production facility
  • Protective clothing or gear such as frocks, gloves and slip resistant shoes and other PPE may be required
  • Tools and equipment such as knives, hand tools, utensils, burners, ovens and standard commercial food manufacturing equipment will be used
  • Work requires some physical strain such as long continuous periods of standing and walking in a production facility
  • Must be able to push, carry, lift and/or pull 25-50lbs
  • Other physical demands may include climbing, crouching and/or reaching
