Not sure what to do with a picky eater who just won’t accept anything? If you’ve become accustomed to a firm “no!”, a persistent head shake or even a mini tantrum every time you offer something new, giving your picky eater even more freedom and choice may be the last thing you want to do….Read more
As a parent, your official job title might as well be “Chief Multitasker.” You’re constantly juggling to-dos while keeping an eye on roaming feet, active hands and curious minds. And at Nurture Life, we’ve designed our convenient kids meal delivery to keep up!
Below, we’re sharing seven of our favorite hacks for customizing Nurture Life meals and making them even better for your family. With these creative ideas, your kids’ favorite meals will work just as hard (and in as many ways) as you do!
Hack #1: Spice Things up with Condiments
Nurture Life’s kids and toddler meal delivery is based on a simple premise: wholesome nutrition from real food, combined in ways that delight a child’s palate. We purposefully minimize salt and sugar in our meals to make sure that your little ones get all the recommended nutrients without developing the mindset that “flavorful” has to mean salty or sweet.
As your family adjusts, it’s perfectly fine to jazz up our meals with condiments! For a punch of familiar flavor, add a little ketchup to our Chicken Bites with Mashed Yams & Green Beans or a light spoonful of maple syrup over our Frittata with Cinnamon French Toast.
Even with a few extra sauces on the side, your little ones are still eating well-balanced foods, and you’re still getting the convenience of nutritious meal delivery for kids, ready in 3 minutes or less.
Hack #2: Add Finger Foods to Other Meals
Want to know an insider secret? Nurture Life’s finger foods aren’t just for young kids still mastering self-feeding. Our team members love incorporating our chunky finger foods into meals for the whole family, too!
For an extra punch of fiber, vitamins and minerals without any extra meal prep, mix a jar of our already chopped and cooked proteins and veggies into any homemade or ready-to-eat meal:
- Soups and stews
- Fried rice
- Spaghetti and meatballs
- Pasta salad
- And more!
One staff favorite in particular is the combination of our Carrot, English Pea & Garnet Yam finger food with our Mac & Cheese With Cauliflower. Throwing in this veggie medley adds 6 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein and 25 grams of micronutrient-rich carbohydrates!
Hack #3: Serve Sweet Purees at Breakfast
Our sweet purees have plenty of creative uses beyond the high chair! We love mixing these blends into oatmeal or Greek yogurt for a pop of flavor and color:
- Mango, Carrot & Ginger
- Blackberry, Apple & Chia
- Anjou Pear, Apricot & Deglet Date
- Carrot & Apricot
- Banana & Anjou Pear
Our purees are so tasty that many Nurture Life team members grab them for a quick breakfast or snack with no changes at all! We love these blends that already have some hearty grains mixed in:
- Mixed Berry Oatmeal
- Banana Raisin Oatmeal
- Pear, Apple, Quinoa & Cinnamon
Hack #4: Freeze Your Own Homemade Popsicles
Not just great for a morning pick-me-up, Nurture Life’s sweet purees can also be frozen into colorful healthier popsicles. Make things easy by freezing a single puree, or layer two or three different purees for a popsicle with adorable stripes.
For the easiest freeze-and-eat experience, choose silicone molds that easily pop out after a quick rinse under warm water. You can even buy baby-sized popsicle trays for the littlest ones in your family!
Hack #5: Mix and Match Meals
If you’ve accidentally ordered too many meals for this week’s baby or toddler meal delivery, you can always freeze them to eat later. If you’d rather eat them fresh, though, try combining meals to suit different appetites at different ages! Two toddler meals make the perfect portion for an older kid (14+) or adult, so we love mixing and matching our toddler meals for an easy tapas-like experience.
Hack #6: Take Nutritious Flavor on the Go
Our meals don’t have to be only served hot at home! You can easily heat them, pack them and send them with your kids to school, summer camp or sports practice.
- Especially thermos-friendly options include Mac & Cheese with Cauliflower, Cheesy Zucchini Pomodoro and Chicken Biryani.
- For easy mealtime assembly, use a divided bento-style lunch box for Southwest Chicken Tacos or Sloppy Joes with Carrots & Beets.
Whether you’ve got extra meals to eat up or are looking for more wholesome dessert alternatives, Nurture Life’s meals can be easily tweaked and tailored for anyone. Kids, adults, adventurous eaters, picky eaters…use these 7 hacks to make our kids meal delivery work for everyone at the table!
